
Our program was created
to help you focus on your sport(s) through Speed, Stamina,
and the Discipline of planned practice sessions.
We will also help
you pinpoint certain trouble spots in your specialty area. You'll
finish this summer quicker, stronger, and better than before.
At Red Dragons we realize some New York City kids work over the
summer vacation, so our training sessions are evenings from 6-8
P.M. at the spacious Astoria and Juniper Park
Field. Just a
few blocks away from the MTA train or Bus.

SPEED
It' s a well known fact that SPEED WINS!!
It
can also
compensate for other weaknesses. So regardless of strength, skill,
confidence or size, speed can be worked on. In our clinic we'll
practice how to train for speed and review the technical skills that
make faster athletes. Instruction includes powerful starts, flexibility
drills, acceleration and strong strides.
At Red Dragons we use
PARACHUTE SPRINTING, ACCELERATION LADDERS & DRAG
SLEDS. Additionally, we use modern plyometric
drills, and
bounding.
STAMINA
Now that you've gained some speed, how do you keep it?
We complement your speed training with Stamina work.
At Red Dragons, we create a Stamina workout so you can run Faster and Further before
fatigue sets in. We use Fartlek,
Interval Training, Game Strategy and Running
Form. Also
on Thursday, we reserve some time to work on your specific
Sport. Whatever it is!!
BEGINNERS
There will be an emphasis on basic training fundamentals
and
injury prevention. Skills and techniques will be covered
thoroughly for the athletes in their desired disciplines.
COMPETITIVE
We cover the latest training techniques and provide highly
individualized coaching. Eliminate precious seconds or add
inches to "Your Personal Best." Remember, training is beneficial
and the discipline of strict consistent training is the way to
peak performance.
Topics to be covered include but are not limited
to:
- Developing a Training Plan
WHAT YOU NEED
You are responsible for your own training/racing shoes and
practice clothing. We recommend light T-shirts, tank tops,
running shorts, towel and a water bottle.
(Don’t forget the sun screen)

WHERE WE WORKOUT
We meet at Juniper Park Track/Soccer Field. Take the Q38 to Eliot
Ave. and Lutheran Ave. Walk south along Lutheran Ave. The field/track
is on the left.
